Learn to Surf Newcastle and Vision Australia have joined forces to host a School Holiday Surf Day for blind or vision impaired participants in the January 2020 holidays. Blind Sports NSW is supporting the event and will be on-site to host the following activities:

  • Beach ball cricket
  • Tug-of-war
  • Yoga

World Champion Vision Impaired Surfer and Paralympic Cyclist, Matt Formston is headlining the day and encourages new participants to come along and give surfing a go! Whether you have tried it before or are completely new to the waves, everyone is welcome to attend and develop new skills in a supportive environment.

Event details
When: Wednesday 22nd January, 2020
Where: Blacksmiths Beach or Caves Beach
Time: 9:30am for 10am start, finish at 2:30pm
Ages: 6 and up, siblings are welcome
Cost: $30 per person, cash on the day

The location will be determined based on surf conditions with participants notified by SMS a couple of days before the event.

Please bring a packed lunch, drink bottle, comfortable clothes, swim wear, sunscreen and a towel.
